Mission Statement

Apex Historical Society is a non-profit, membership-supported organization
dedicated to preserving, protecting and promoting the history of Apex,
North Carolina.
Oral History Project
The Society has launched a long term project to capture and preserve the "oral history" and memories of the area as told by many residents born or living here in years past. Read the project plan and consider joining the team in this ambitious project.
Initial training has been held to help team members prepare to conduct interviews and do other jobs. Click to view more about the training.

2009 Annual Home Tour

Plans for the 2009 home tour have been set and the tour will be held on Sunday afternoon, December 6th. Click for details on home tour sites and where to purchase tickets.
2007 Open House Slide Show
Click to view a slide show of the Maynard-Pearson House "open house" and the 2007 Home Tour. The virtual tour of the MP House provides a glimpse of historical Christmas decorations in the style of the early 1900's and some the town's history. It was prepared by Mack Thorpe, a member of the Society and co-owner of The Rusty Bucket, one of the local shops supporting the Society.

The May 2009 Apex Historical Society and Halle Cultural Arts Center presentation "Upchurch and Related Families of Western Wake County:
